Stacked, front load washer/dryer set - what is quality, 120v dryer?

All,

We are looking for a quality front load washer/dryer set with a 120v dryer. It looks like the RV style sets are more common to have 120v dryers. The residential styles are more often 240, though 120v does exist.

What are some of you running? What is quality, what can you get parts for, and the opposite - what should we stay away from?

Are there any sets that have a "low heat" dryer setting? Or just 2 - high/med (plus air/no heat)?

The dryers that have the lowest heat setting of "medium" - are they safe for synthetics? Or are they still too hot?

We have stackable, front-loaded Splendide ARWXF129W IOM washer and Splendide TVM63X 120v dryer.

Dryer is vented outside. It has 3 timed drying cycles and a handy 'Auto' cycle that stops automatically when your load is dry. It offers air fluff, low heat and auto dry.

They are made specifically for RV's and boats. Great quality, easy to buy spare parts. Stay away from a combo as these do not deliver dry and wrinkle-free clothes, in my experience based on 3 combos on a boat and overseas AND be sure it is vented outside to mitigate humidity buildup in the rv. Ours has multiple heat settings, including low plus air fluff and they are safe for synthetics.

We have a stacked Splendide washer and dryer since we got our MH in 2016. Have had no issues with either. When we bought the MH, we really didn't care to have it, but it was a standard feature, so we acquiesced. We quickly came to appreciate having them. We use it for smaller, lighter loads, and they work fine for that. Certainly reduces the number of laundromat trips. Another direct benefit is we don't bring as many changes of clothes for our long trips as we used to. It's so easy to get a quick small load washed and dried. Just be aware, to use it, you need to be cognizant of remaining grey tank capacity, or be hooked up to a sewer connection when you are using it. That said, we'd much rather have the washer and dryer than not.

Many have reported problems with Whirlpool stackables. I had to replace inlet valves once but otherwise our Whirlpools have been OK
If I had to replace it would be Splendide based on many recommendations from users and mobile repair tech.

Our Splendide stackables have been in full time use since 2012. Replaced heater and drum belt in dryer and control module and tub seal in washer. Parts easy to get from Westland sales, they have also provided excellent tech support. We only go to the laundermat for the mattress cover and heavier blankets.

Even high temperature setting on a 110 dryer is not very hot. Low would be safe for synthetics.

Thanks for all the replies.

It appears Splendide only makes 1 stackable washer and 1 stackable dryer right now:
Washer - WFL1300XD
Dryer - DV6500X

They have a couple combos (washer/dryer in 1 unit). That isn't what we want - we're after separate washers/dryers.

Do the above models parallel a lot of what those that have Splendide units are using - just current models?

Another question on the 120v dryer operation -

Has anyone had issues with power at campgrounds with the dryer running? Obviously if you are on 30a service that is what you are technically limited to before popping a breaker. However, my question is how stable the power has been in your experience with the higher current draw.

According to the spec sheet on the above units - the dryer runs on 12 amps and the washer runs on 6 amps. So those running together would be 18 amps = can run on 30 amp 120v service.... in theory.

Obviously, you're at the mercy of the CG's electric grid, but aside from that, you'll need to manage your consumption as you always would. At a 30A service, if you're running your A/C, you'll be cutting it pretty close if you're running both the washer and dryer. So you'll likely have to use one at a time. But that's still very manageable. Just a matter of budgeting your time. At a 50A service, no problem at all using both at one time. So far in the 6 years we've had them, we've not had any issues with them.
