Suburban oven pilot won't stay lit. Thermocouple checks good.

Model SRNSXB1B1XBP1EB
Can light pilot and burners work fine (ran all at once and didn't see any lowering of flames). As soon as I let the knob spring out the pilot goes out. Thermocouple measures 32 mV. Hoping it's not the valve or at least some way to test before buying a new one. This RV is new to us so I don't know the history.

I need to take the knob off my oven control and push the shaft in a bit further then the knob allows. That makes the pilot a little bigger and heats the thermal coupler hotter and it stays lit.

Try it !

Check that the pilot flame is close enough to the thermocouple, maybe some one cleaning bumped it out of alignment, try small adjustments if you don't have specific positioning info.

JimLS-

Here's an iRV2 thread that may apply to your problem:

New Suburban Oven Won't Stay Lit

In particular, the fourth post on that thread (link here) worked for a friend of mine when he had the symptom you report.

Thanks but it's not the same issue. I can't get the pilot to stay lit AT ALL. It goes out as soon as I let the knob out in the pilot position. Without that I never get to the point of having the oven burner on.

Pilot flame lights off
Pilot flame eats thermocouple
Thermocouple DC Output when heated measures 32mv

Oven control magnet NOT staying engaged when Oven knob is released at Pilot position...pilot flame goes out

If you have tried what 'twinboat' suggested (pulling knob out so you can push it in farther)
then sounds like new burner assembly/control valve is needed

https://suburbanrvparts.com/suburban...89-short-oven/

***Verify that is correct part.......there are numerous assemblies

Thanks! That site is very confusing. I think what you linked to is the tube from the oven control to the burner. I found their manifolds - it looks like I have to buy the assembly with the burner and oven controls all as one part. But they still have several different assemblies like that listed - I sent them a message and hopefully they will get back to me with which parts I need to order. Is this the only place to get Suburban parts?

It does appear that the whole assembly would be needed
Use to be the oven control could be purchased individually

With the correct part number an Internet search can be done for best pricing

There is a QR code on the valve that is a very long number. I tried to search for that but no luck. There is a shorter number on the side but it is partially covered.

BTW, I saw USN in your signature. I was on USS Long Beach CGN-9. Sonar Tech
