Suburban water heater

Just notice a slight water drip coming off copper gas line to water heater. I first thought it was condensation, but now I think it's a leak. The gas line goes through the floor on the bottom of the slide to the water heater. I checked on the inside around the water heater & see no evidence of a leak! Is it possible the tank itself has a leak at the seam? I've replaced many residential water heaters over the years with tank leaks. This tank is 8 years old & we bought the coach used & have been full-timing for a year. That being said, the water heater has been on pretty much 24/7, so I wonder if the tank is beginning to fail?

Good Morning,
It is a good idea to flush your water heater yearly to remove the sediment and calcium that will build up in the 2" belly below the drain plug. This will refresh your water heater and allow it to run smoother.

The leak was not the water heater, but a pex tee under the kitchen sink. The leak was on the cold water line attached to the flex line that flexes in/out with kitchen slide. I suspect the constant movement weakened the connection. It was in an area difficult to repair. I was surprised as to how hard it is to remove the pex clamp! I tried a ss hose clamp on the tubing, but the clamp could not compress the tubing & stop the leak. I decided to remove the piece of pex tubing & replace with a piece of braided hose (rated 200 PSI) & standard ss hose clamps from HD. Leak fixed! I was shocked at the price of the pex tools for removing & installing the pex clamps!!!!
