Surging 10KW Onan

I've been running the generator the last few days and today I noticed something. The generator engine is running smoothly but the electric seems to be surging. No breakers have been tripped, and everything is running, but you can hear it and see it in the lights.

What are the indicators that make you thing the electrical is surging? Are you reading power output from a monitoring system? Or voltage output?

The reason I ask is my 10k power output surged when I had a heat pump compressor go bad and it cycled on and off. The generator was simply responding to the "surging" load on the system.

If you're close to a big box (or similar) store, go buy a Kil A Watt device for about $15.

It will tell you what voltage your outlets are showing, along with amps and other things when connected to appliances.

Beats surge guards in questionable areas, and too cheap to not have one.
