Surrounding room for Dometic CF 80 Fridge?

Hi all,

I have a the Dometic cf 80 in a Sprinter Van I've converted. I created a cabinet beneath the bed where I can slide the fridge into. I've done a bit of woodworking, so I made something on slides where the fridge sits. So there is essentially 1 inch on both sides of the fridge and about a half-inch in the back of the cabinet. The space in there seemed to be getting warm, and I am wondering if that is a bad thing, or just normal.

Thanks for the help,

James

I have no experience with these coolers, but I did look at the installation instructions for the CF80. Did you set up and install your unit according to the instructions? (Particularly the caution to be sure you align the mesh panels in the cover with the vents in the cooler)
Any compressor type unit will need to expel the heat extracted from the inside, but I didn’t see any specified clearance requirements.
