Toilet function question
Our 2002 Monaco Diplomat DP has an electronic toilet. It flushes and the trap opens and closes when connected to shore power...but the batteries "must be" turned on. If we turn off the batteries, the trap opens, but it does not flush and the trap does not close. So in essence the batteries must be turned on at all times for it to function.
Is this normally how they work?

Yes the batteries must be turned on no matter if it's plugged in or not the toilet runs on 12volts so does the water pump.

All electric/electronic gadgets and gizmos need electricity to operate.

Yep, it has to have the battery voltage to operate. Mine is made just like yours I'm sure. I'm surprised that the trap will even open with the batteries off!

One more question (and maybe Joe and Annette can answer as your Model is close to ours).
The refrigerator only works when we are driving if we have it on LP or on AC if the generator is working. It does not work on AC without the generator on. Is that the way it is to work?

My MH has two AC outlets behind the fridge. One of them works on the inverter and the other one does not. We keep the fridge plugged into the one that works with the inverter so we can run the fridge on AC from the inverter while traveling, saving LP!
