Toilet inlet seal at vacuum breaker??

Hello everyone, thanks in advance for helping me with this one. I am a little stumped on how to fix a water leak. The vacuum breaker at the back of my Sealand Traveler toilet is leaking. I want to replace it but everything I am find has a rubber grommet that goes into the fill hole of the toilet tank.

If you look at my terrible dark picture you can see that the fill inlet on mine is threaded. I tried removing it and first it broke the tube off the vacuum breaker and left me with a stub sticking out of the toilet.

Then I unthreaded the connection but it is stuck in the toilet. Kind of hard to describe but I would say it seems most similar to the way a sink faucet sticks down through the countertop and you thread a nut on and that clamps the faucet down. How would you even get to the other side of this nut contraption??

Any help would be appreciated!

Can you get the exact model number off this unit. I'm with you. I have done many repairs on Dometic Sea Land toilets. Some have very subtle but odd differences.

Does this one use the plastic band held in place by a large hose clamp to hold the top and bottom halves together?

I've never seen on that doesnt just have the rubber grommet that the water pipe from the vacuum breaker doesn't just push through.

I am wondering if this is a McGyver fix someone did, and either that nut on the outside somehow expands the pipe inside the whole, or someone pushed the grommet in or ruined it and put a piece of pipe with threads on it and glued and sealed it in place.

The first thing I would do is get the bowl half of it disconnected from water and taken off. If it is working and leaking, and you need to use it for now, I would order a ball and seal before taking apart. Then you will be able to get a clear look at the vacuum breaker valve and see how it comes out.

Be careful when you take it it apart. Seal placement and direction has to be exact. I fought with min on my HR several times to fix leaks.

I ended up having heck of a time fixing it but basically yes it was a 2 piece with the band clamp. Took it off and yanked the goofy nut style grommet out. New vacuum part was too short. Had to fabricate a simple extension. Silicone everything in, dried a day. Leak free today!!
