Trailer battery isolator

I noticed my Type 1 style battery isolator fell off its mount and is in rough shape. I wish to replace it. My 7 pin connector is receiving 12v via a direct line from the van's battery with an in-line 20 amp fuse.

The line is only used for battery charging. The only powered device in the trailer is the CO detector by default.

Question: Should the battery isolator be rated at 20 amps as well?

Thank you.

What gauge wire did you use from the battery to the 7 pin connector in the TV. What size wire on the trailer from 7 pin connector to the battery. you dont want you fuse amp rating to exceed the wire capability.
