Triplevision rear camera reverse image

Hello all, just purchased my very first motorhome. 2007 allegro bay tsa-35. Only had 7,700 miles with 98 hrs on the generator. Beautiful,no damage, well kept. Everything great until i Had it washed and waxed and when I picked it up the monitor on the rear view triplevision camera has a mirror image (left/right). If a car is passing me on the left it appears that it is coming up on the right. I can't find anything in the owners manual nor on any forums about this problem. I found on the rear camera there is one pin sized hole, thought it was a reset button, but probably it's the microphone. There are no menu buttons on the monitor and I was told by someone to try holding down the power button to bring up the menu but that didn't work unless there are other steps I'm missing. I would call Tiffin, I hear they have the best service, but it is Sunday and would love to get this working today. Thank you for reading such a long post, any help is greatly appreciated.

That is strange... Sorry, I don't have any advice, but it is not something I would expect from getting it washed.... Doesn't the camera have a protector over it? Is it possible there is a switch on the screen inside the coach with a "reverse image" setting or something?

Like I said, no advice, just find it wired. Good luck. I am sure someone here will help you. They may need to know if it is a stock camera or an after market one. You may want to see if there is a make or model and/or post a pic of both the monitor and the camera on the back.

Again, good luck!

Let me welcome you to iRV2. It must be a slow day. I would have expected several responses by now. I have found this group of folks to be very helpful and generally quick to respond.

Btw, it sounds like you picked up a very nice rig with very low mileage. If this is the only problem you have experienced, that is not to bad.

I wish you many great travel adventures in the future.

There's your problem, the monitor is sideways!

Here's a link to someone who sells the units. They say it "has an on screen setup."

Address

Here's a link to the manual. I was going to look at the manual and suggest a solution, but they want a credit card # and I didn't need the info that badly.

I'd also suggest you call Tiffin on Monday and/or post this question on the Tiffin Owner's Group

Thanks Ted and very funny BF. I have the original owners manual. The owner left me every and I mean every booklet, pamphlet, owners manual from everything she received, even the original invoice. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the manual about this problem. My power button does not have 'menu' on it. I did trying holding it down for a while trying to get a menu screen to come on, but no luck.

It sounds like you are stating that it worked correctly BEFORE you had the coach washed and waxed.

Is this correct?

Or has it been that way since purchase?

Regardless, the only way it's going to get resolved is to read all about the camera and monitor to see how the images are displayed and how to configure them the way you want.

BTW, you had better get some mileage on that generator soon. 98 hours tells me that it had never been exercised regularly to make sure that it will run and perform when needed or wanted. A good 1-2 hours per month with at least a 50% load on the generator will keep it in good working order.

When you do the math, it should have almost double the hours or more.

Yes, it was working perfect before the wash. And yes, I did have to have the generators carb (fuel line, filters etc.) replaced to get it purring like a kitten. I do have the original owners manual and it doesn't mention anything about this problem. Also nothing on google.

OK, since it was working correctly prior to the wash and wax, then I would look around the rear camera area for a button or switch that has gotten moved or pushed accidentally.

It won't be something on the monitor because the wash and wax were done on the outside of the coach.

Unfortunately, there is nothing on the outside camera except a little pin hole. I was thinking it was a reset button, but it appears it is the microphone.

Yes the rearview camera has a microphone. It drives me nuts when big trucks pass by so I turn the sound way down. I don't have your answer but I do know that this was addressed with the fix over on the tiffinrvnetwork forum.
