Truma AquaGo

Any update on the AquaGo? I really need more hot water capacity than I currently have. I know there have been some problems, but are they generally the best offering out there?

We have one in our coach and have been very happy. Haven't had any issues

What problems are you referring to? I've heard there are issues with some of the knock offs, but nothing with the Trumas. We have the Aqua Go Comfort Plus and it's been flawless. Turn the faucet and hot water.

I heard something about a freeze protection issue. Picked most of that up here and other forums. I currently have the stock system on my Newmar that has electric, propane, and engine heat. A very flexible system for the wife and I, but we are beginning to travel with more family and just don't have enough hot water at the right time.

Hmm hadn't heard that. The Truma does use some power and some propane when not actively in use. I chose tankless to save weight on a motor home that's OCCC challenged. In hindsight I'm glad we did.

We’ve had ours for about 17-18 months now ... love it! Bought the electric freeze kit to be safe (that something you run if ambient temps are below freezing and your coach is occupied and not winterized).

I think I paid less than that, so you might want to shop around a bit.

BTW, related to just normal usage, if you simply switch on the heater when you need it, then turn it off when you’re done, it is amazing how little it consumes propane. If you leave it on, particularly in the recirculating mode, propane usage will go up, of course.

I only have one certified dealer where I live. The estimate was $2,500 installed with no paint modifications. I’m really struggling to spend that versus $500 for the Girard and DIY. Help?
