Up-grading my 5ver's to flat screen tv

I'm converting my 5ver from glass tube tv (32" and 14"? very heavy) to lcd/led flat screens tv. I thought this would be EZ, but as I'm doing this conversion...how do you hold them down? I made a mount for the 19" TV for the bed room utilizing 4 mounting places that the TV offers and a RAM mount, but it really flexes the TV encloser!...it looks good for a fix non moving mount...not sure how this well handle the trailer bouncing using this 4 screw rear mounting? So, I got my plan/ideas on how I'm going to be doing it. My question is...What has been your mounting ideas? and how successful you have been? the good, bad and the ugly experiences with this conversion/mounting?

There are loads of different types of wall mounts available. Some RVs use fixed mounts, and some use articulated mounts. The articulated mounts need a strap to hold the TV in place wile the RV is in motion.

I used the fixed mount shown below when I upgraded the TVs in the motorhome we used to have. It is only about 8" across, but it worked well for both the 26" TV in the bedroom and the 32" one in front. I ran a 2X4 up the middle of the old TV enclosure so there would be something solid to which to screw the back half of the mount. I also added 2 rubber bumpers at the bottom corners of the front TV to stabilize the TV further.

When we mounted a flat screen in the bedroom, we reinforced the cabinet wall to use a swing arm. Details and photos.

The living room TV was on a slide-out shelve. We changed in two steps. LCD TV 1 and then we added a MOR/ryde TV Mount, LCD TV II

One thing that really helped me....and I might get bashed for this!!....I didn't get the best name brand TV on purpose. I got the el cheapo one from walmart (can't really remember the brand). Even the 32" is REALLY light. I didn't wall mount mine. I actually screwed it down to a piece of painted plywood and bought generic drawer slides from the local do-it center and attached them to the plywood. Then I used gate locks to secure when retracted. Kinda hard to describe and I won't be home for a couple of weeks to take any pictures, but the lighter TV really helped.

As mentioned there are many different LCD TV mounting brackets/systems available. Take a look at Monoprice.com, they have a good selection and the prices are the best anywhere. Also a good place to get HDMI or coax cables.

Also, you might look at this locking articulated mount from Camping World. I used one in my Itasca when I replaced the tube TV with a flat screen. It locks in place and does not require an additional strap. I did have to add a short extension to the chain so it could be reached below the TV.
