Should I assume the problem is entirely due to discharged house battery bank?
Yes, most RV's charge from the engine alternator through a bridge circuit connected to the chassis battery. A failed bridge circuit can stop that.
A solar panel may charge the battery bank while driving. How much charge depends on the make and model of solar panel, solar controller, and the weather.
Is the solar controller connected to the chassis battery or the house battery? What is the capacity of the solar system?
There are many possible reasons for discharged house batteries after two days of driving.
Entry door 12 volt house battery disconnect is turned "OFF" while driving.
Battery disconnect near the battery is "OFF" while driving.
Bridge circuit to the chassis battery is defective.
Loose or corroded connection in the bridge circuit.
Defective battery. One shorted cell in the battery bank can pull the whole bank down.
Normally an RV generator will not shut down in 15 minutes. It should continue running until you shut it down. On the other hand you may have programmable auto generator start and shut down. Do you know why the generator shut down?
It should of course start on demand. Why didn't it start? Did the starter turn when you tried to start? Did you try using the "boost" button to connect the chassis battery to start?
Generator may require 12 volts from RV for controls. Dead batteries and Victron not charging or converting could cause the generator to stop. Is the Victron charger turned "off".
Loose or corroded connections of course can cause all of this.
Post generator make and model # for better advice.
