Victron MultiOplu (PMP123021102)
Hello:
Need some help troubleshooting the inverter pass-through. When inverter is on, I get NO power when shore or genset is present. Is the inverter defected?
Thanks in advance for your help.

With my Victron MultiPlus-1 you have to turn the inverter to "On" or "Charge Only" of the Victron will pass your shore power 120V or generator 120V to your RV Sub-panel.
So hopefully this is all you need to do if this is not a new installation. Is it?

Yes, inverter is turn to on. Yes, new installation. Installed by a authorized Victron tech. He kind of busy at the moment and trying to troublshoot this by email with no luck. He is trying to find time to come back out here to see in person the issue. But in the meantime, was looking for irv2 help in case he just overlook something.

Check the wire from the mains to the inverter and the wire from the inverter to your sub-panel. Are they reversed?
Typically, the inverter only provides L1 to the Subpanel.
Do you have a MultiPlus-1 or MultiPlus-2?
The MP-2 can support L1 & L2.
Did you ground the Multiplus? ...Just run a separate ground to your chassis. No doubt you have a ground bus bar near the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS).
Don't count on the MP mounted to the wall to provide the necessary ground.

I don’t know if it is a MS 1 or 2. It doesn’t say any where. The Tech did ground the MS, but it could have been a better ground. He grounded to a metal strap I used to reinforce the inverter battery floor. I attached pix of inverter and grounding cable. Thx

That is a standard 12V, 3,000VA MultiPlus.
I see you have a breaker on one of the A/C power lines. Did you check for power to that breaker?
Also - when you power up do you get a solid green LED? The LEDs should go to a solid green if all is well. If there is an issue it will flash a coded sequence to aid in troubleshooting.

I haven't check the breaker for power, but when off it shut down the inverter. Yes solid green light when power up the inverter.
It just doesn't senses shore power or genset.

Hey Guys, first off like to thank B-Man for your help. Now, just reporting back with an up-date. Had the Victron Tech back out here troubleshooting. He hooked his laptop to the Victron cable and ran the genset w both air conditions with no problems. While both aircon on he started the microwave and it ran for awhile then it cut off. He said both aircon and microwave is a little hard on the 5000K genset. Before running only 1 aircon off the genset it would shed.
So, what was the problem. Well, we talked for awhile and the only difference during the tests was the weather. When the issue occurred it was in the 90s, today during the test it was in the 70's. The tech said, heat can do issues like the one I experience. I do recall the basement were the inverter is located was pretty warm also. So, now I'm going to install a round soffit vent near the Victron Inverter intake fan in hopes it will stay cool in desert heat...LOL Thanks!!
