Victron MultiPlus Will Not Charge On Shore Power or Generator

My MP will not charge my 24V-LiFeP04 house battery and the 5" display shows it is in “Storage” or "Float" even after I lowered the SOC to below 80%.

I think the MP is stuck in Storage mode.

I think the MP cannot read the SOC parameters. Where does the MP get it's SOC information? ...And the 5" display will only show SOC when I tell the system to pull the SOC information off the Smart Shunt.

Can you help me find the right switch on the 5” display or in the VRM Portal to enable my MP-Charger to work again?

I already tried re-booting the Cerbo-S-GX and I made sure I have all the latest firmware installed, which was easy to do on the VRM Portal.

I think I need to connect the MK3 and change "some sort of Storage Mode Setting" in the MultiPlus, but this is a pain giving where my MP is mounted.

*** Sorry about the pictures below are displayed on their side. I don't know how to fix that either.

The point of sharing them is so you can see the 5" Display will show the MP is in "Storage" or "Absorption" or "Float" mode after I reset the MP switch on its cover plate to "On" or "Charger Only."

And despite the being in "Absorption" mode, no current is passing from the Charger to the Battery. (But the inverter works fine, so I doubt I have a cable problem. Rather, I think there is some switch I need to flip "on or off" to get the MP-Charger to work again, but I can't find it.)

This so frustrating, because the MPPT-solar cells work normally to charge the batteries too and it stops charging when the SOC reaches 100% like it should.

So... whatever you can do help me get beyond this point will be much appreciated.

Problem Solved - Caused By Installing New MultiPlus Firmware

My Victron MP-1 24V Charger stopped working.

Solution: I needed to re-configure my MP-1 after I uploaded new MP-1 firmware.

Thank you Keith for your excellent technical support at Pike Industries, a leading Victron Distributor, with excellent, fast Technical Support.

Now My MP-1 is charging again!

For video on how to program your MultiPlus Settings watch this YouTube video:

And the picture below summarizes the settings for a 12V LiFeP04 battery, so if you have a 24V battery just 2x these numbers as appropriate.

=== I USED THESE PARAMETERS FOR MY MULTIPLUS-1 & MPPT ===

I set the Float charge parameter to 26.8V.
I set the Absorption Voltage to 28.2V
And I set the Max Charge Current to 28.2 per my battery mfg's recommendations .

====

Here's my reasoning on how I arrived at these numbers:

My 24V Lithiums have 8 cells x 3.65V/cell = 29.2V. So, I consider this to be the max-voltage you would set in the MP-1 and MPPT for "Absorption ." However, I chose to set this Absorption limit to 28.2V since I don't need or want such a fast charge.

And I chose 90% SOC as the set point the Float Voltage at, which is 3.35V/cell x 8 = 26.8V.

And I determined my Lithium likes to rest at 27.2V so this is where I "Synchronized" the Smart Shunt to read 100%.

I sure Keith told you when you update the firmware on a Multi-Plus it clears out the settings.
You can make updates and changes thru the VRM portal. It's very easy to use. With it you can monitor various parameters and input / output.
You can download a copy of the current settings, do the update and than reload them into the M-P.
Victron has made some changes when using the VRM portal for updates, the last 2 updates I did, it saved the current settings automatically and reloaded them.
I still download the settings before updating incase it doesn't reload them.
