We've got the 2100 & there is no lint filter. A couple times a season, I do check the outside vent for any lint buildup, though.
I have, occasionally, used a fabric softener sheet. The problem is timing it just right to catch it when the unit starts the dry cycle, shutting it off long enough for the door latch to unlock, putting in the sheet & then turning it back on so it can finish drying. 9 times out of 10, I'm busy doing something else & forget about the dryer sheet until it's too late. It's better to use the #3 section of the dispensing drawer for liquid softener. There was a thread
here about the Purex 3-in-1 sheets, but doesn't look like they work well.
