Water heater controls

Does anyone know if there is a master on/off switch or a temperature adjustment for the Atwood G6A-8E in my 2000 Fleetwood Southwind.

Your Atwood G6A-8E is a Gas only 6 gallon water heater with electronic ignition

S/B a simple On/Off switch with Light to turn it ON
Similar to this switch

Temperature control is via a Fix Temp T-stat....Opens at 140*F and Closes at 110*F for reheat cycle
ECO (Energy Cut Off...HI Temp t-stat) trips open at 180*F/resets at 150*F but if it trips it 'Locks-Out' water heater controls/triggers that RED Fault Light on switch
**To reset controls...turn switch Off then back ON
**If ECO trips...the T-stat has failed

There is also a Thermal Fuse that blows if exposed to 190*F
It is inside the Clear tubing and connects between Circuit Board and T-stat (Brown Wires)
Blows if Flame Blow-Back occurs from burner tube/combustion chamber

Atwood T-stat/ECO... (standard 140*F/180*F set)
Part #91447

Atwood OPTIONAL T-stat...(130*F T-stat)
Part #91470

Atwood OPTIONAL Adjustable T-stat....(110*F-150*F)
Part #93105

All the Atwood T-stats are listed here

I see what appears to be an element with a ac line cord. I think it’s routed to a 110v outlet in the wet compartment. What is this for?

Element??

Water heater element would be on backside of WH Tank under a protective cover
You WH Model would have to be GC6A-8E (C denotes combo gas/electric)

SO that could be for wet bay heater.......plug in when in Cold weather to keep components in Wet Bay from freezing

Question is if my unit is gas only why do I have a plug on a element of some sort hooked up to a 120 volt outlet in my wet compartment. I measure the impedance of the element (says hot stick) on my water heater. Could this be an active anode? Can I attach pictures to this thread?

AH Ha!
Hott Rod is aftermarket electric element...small wattage (325W??)
that goes in Drain hole
S/B a t-stat set attached to tank wall or T&P Relief Valve to control the Hott Rod

Just remember that the Atwood tank S/B drained/Flushed at least at end of season which will require removal of that Hott Rod

After a bit of searching, I found the Instructions for the Hott Rod and fyi the specs say the 6 gal. model is 400W.
