Ok couple things.
Your water heater has an electric element, and an electric element control board (with red reset button)
You should be able to find the precise model on the heater from the outside.
Camping world will have new elements, and you could probably change this yourself.
I wonder if the atwoods have an overtemp cutoff? Possibly the water is getting too hot and turning itself off either because the element is bad or the control board is bad or the thermostat is too high.
Given the age, I would attempt calling atwood, they may or may not talk to you, but I would imagine they have some sort of tech support that might lead you to a conclusion.
If all else fails, even changing the whole heater is not that big of a deal, but my first suspect is the heating element, second suspect is the control board. If it was turned on while dry, the element could be damaged.
Knowing the model number allows to locate the specific docs on the unit.
Wonder if these guys could help over the phone, this page is a mess but they seem to know what they are doing.
