Water heater removal

I need to replace the water heater in our 2009 Phaeton 36QSH. Is there any directions or videos showing the connection locations/ procedure. Thanks

Actual Brand/Model of water heater would help.

Basically:
Propane supply off
Water supply off
120VAC to WH off
12VDC to WH off
Disconnect Cold & Hot water lines at fittings on backside of WH Tank
Disconnect 120VAC wiring & 12VDC wiring at water heater (backside)
Disconnect propane line at WH Gas Valve fitting (outside compartment)
Use sharp blade to score sealant between WH Frame/RV wall
Separate WH from RV and pull it out (screws/hold down bolts etc)

Here is manual for Suburban Models

My only suggestion would be, if you can snake your way to the backside of the WH, to break loose all fittings before taking out the last of the outside mounting screws. Some of those fittings can really be tight and without the mounting screws stabilizing the heater, they can be a bear to remove... especially without help.

Use the Google search bar to search for related posts.
Years ago when I had to remove mine on a Wbgo I found a very detailed step by step in the Wbgo section.

If you currently have an Atwood WH, they are no longer available. Atwood was bought by Dometic and they don't have a direct replacement for the Atwood. Suburban may have an "Atwood" clone. Unless the storage tank is leaking, a water heater can be mostly rebuilt and is cheaper than buying a new one.

I believe my tank is leaking. When I have water pressure to the RV I get a constant drip just below the water heater location. I am assuming that it must be from the tank… or ? I haven’t climbed back in the engine compartment yet but do you access the rear hot cold connections from the engine bay or do you need to remove a floor panel from inside for the access?

Hot/cold water line connections are ON the backside of WH Tank

Need to gain access to backside of water heater tank.......

Brand/Model of water heater is always HELPFUL

Atwood tanks are Aluminum and can be welded/repaired

Suburban tanks are steel glass-lined and if tank leaks whole unit has to be replaced

Need to access backside of water heater and check for loose fittings/connections

Many times they are just hand tightened

Suburbans typically leak inside the combustion chamber visible from the outside compartment
