Water heater will not heat.

The new Dometic 6 gal gas/elect water heater stopped working over the last weekend. It's new as in still under the 1 year warranty.

It will neither work on 120 or on LP. I know the 120v line to the water heater has power.

How do I determine if the circuit board is good.

A friend of mine who has a Reflection 5'ver told me that a number of other Reflection owners has reported a lot of the circuit boards failing.

Have you verified 12 VDC to the water heater?

I'm going out to do that now. I do know the 2 amp mini ATO blade fuse that's on the circuit board is good. And all the DC fuses at the power distribution panel are all good.

I have now verified that electricity is getting to the circuit board.

Monday I will talk to Dometic. I'd like to get a new circuit board sent to me. I'd put it on.

As in NEW....what is the Model?

WH6-GA??
2 common issues
*Thermal Cutout blowing (190*F) clear tubing directly above combustion chamber
*Circuit Board connections 4 pin & 6 pin

Uses same wiring scheme as the Atwood versions since 2004

Trace the DC from switches to circuit board (White AC/Orange Gas) to thermal cutout (if blown...no DC) to T-stat to circuit board (Brown wires)
Still got DC ...then from Circuit Board to ECO to Gas Valve (Red Wires) to Ground (black Wires)
*Full DC to/thru ECO on GAS and Millivolts to/thru ECO on AC
Still got DC?---GAS should be working
Then for AC...DC from circuit board to DC Relay (Yellow Wire)

Dometic Sending a New Circuit Board...doubtful w/o 'RV repair shop testing/requesting it thru Warranty'

Follow the DC circuits

Dometic would not send me a new board WITHOUT being verified by the RV dealership or a mobile repair tech. They stopped sending these out on the customers checking the boards.
I bought a new board from the dealer and when they received the replacement the dealer kept the new board but refunded me my funds for the one I purchased from them. So talk to the dealer and see if they will offer the same.
Also as far as the "1 year warranty" issue, not so these have a 2 year warranty, look at the paperwork for the water heater.

I'm going to talk to Dometic Monday. I'll be happy to have a mobile tech check it out, if Dometic covers it under warranty.

At this point dealer is pretty much out of the question. Dealer is in Florida and zi am in Virginia.

If I read this correctly you have determined that you power. Have you pulled out the element. That is the first thing I would do. If you did not have the heater tank full of water and turned on the electric it would take very little time to burn out the element. That is where I would look before going to circuit boards.

I would bet the answer would be: "We will pay the labor charges, and if board is bad, send a new board, but the service call will be on you". The reason I say this is been down the road with authorized service for a mobile tech before.
Since it is under the 1 year warranty first try your manufacturer and see if they will pre-authorize a mobile repair to come to you. Some manufacturers will do this, some insist on a service center.
With Heartland, our manufacturers they did authorize a mobile repair tech for a leaky water heater while under the 1 year warranty. Then next year the board went out and that is when I called Atwood (Dometic).

OP stated doesn't work on 120V OR LP
That is a DC issue ....not element
OP needs to follow the DC Circuit to find where the DC Stops

I know DC electricity is getting to the board. Haven't figured how far it goes after that. Will take a further look tomorrow.

Turns out, the problem was the thermocouple. Replaced the old one, and et voila, it works on both gas and electric.

Thermocouple??

Do you mean 'thermal cut out' (fuse in the clear tubing) that connected to T-stat with Brown wire??

That thermal fuse blows at 190*F ...when exposed to Flame Blow Back out of combustion Chamber

That suggest dirty burner/combustion chamber....spider webs can cause it
