Unhappy Water Pump causes LED lights to flicker

While using the water pump, the LED lights in my rig flicker. Although far from an electrical genius, I am aware that LED lights are very sensitive to changes in voltage. This is more of an aggravation than a serious issue. I CAN live with it, but would rather not. Does anyone know of an eloquent solution for this issue?? I have heard of some kind of "driver" to keep the LED voltage constant, but know little about it. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Interesting.

Is it a constant flicker while the pump is running, or only when it first starts to run?

If a constant flicker - how old are your batteries? How clean are the battery terminal connections and any chassis ground bonding connections?

My first thought was to tell you to add a big capacitor to the coach’s 12vdc electrical system, but a good set of coach batteries I would expect would be a far greater voltage stabilizer, unless there were high resistance connections somewhere in the system or batteries on the fringe.

Constant flicker. I've had the rig a year (used but in good shape)..the coach batteries are 2-3 years old, I believe. I will clean all the coach terminals as well as the ground and see if that makes a difference...

If the LED lights are a fixed voltage there can be issues with over and under voltage. Best solution is to use LED bulbs with a voltage range, i.e. 8-18 volts. I learnt that lesson the hard/expensive way.

This has been covered before......

Too many 12v devices to one circuit (including the water pump and lights) which causes the flicker.

Solutions are mainly to separate the 12v circuit to your water pump from everything else. Run a power wire directly from your fuse panel the pump.

This may take some investigating about how to do that. Solutions include relays, direct connections, this device , etc... Maybe check on your specific RV's forum web site to see if someone has already done it.
