WELDEX Rear monitoring

I have the original Weldex Rear Monitoring system WDRV-3007M black and white monitor and camera. It is dash mounted one view and I am thinking about replacing this with a color monitor and camera. The picture on the current one is ok but a new crisp color image would be much better I think. I found this Weldex set up RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems: Weldex 7" LCD Monitor and was wondering if anyone has upgraded your rear monitoring system. My hope would be that the install would be fairly easy using current wiring and connections. Thanks for your thoughts and comments.

Replaced camera and monitor on my old rig to color. Worked with folks at RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems.
They were very helpful and had the best price.

Is your new Monitor a Weldex or one of the other brands they have listed. Were you able to install it in the in the dash cut out where the old monitor was.

Thanks

My old Monitor was a Weldex, replace camera and monitor with a color monitor. My old B/W camera was in my Fleetwood and hung down under the TV like a rear view mirror.

I had this exact same issue on my Gulfstream Sunvoyager RV. The weldex system used to work fine, then a few years ago the image would come on, then slowly fade to a white/gray screen. The sound still worked though. Over the weekend I decided to troubleshoot what the issue could be. I removed the rear camera and connected directly to the monitor, and it still only displayed a white/gray screen. I thought the camera was probably dead, and just when I went to unplug it, I jostled the cable and got an image for a second or two! Upon seeing that, I grabbed the connector and started pushing, pulling, twisting, etc, and was able to get the picture again! I then determined that the connector on the camera must be bad, so i cut it off on both the camera and the connection coming out of the back of the coach and hardwired the 4 wires to each other, taped them up good and reinstalled the camera. All is working properly now!

Hi Don, just wondered if you replaced the Weldex rear view...and if you might still have it? I have the same system, and am looking for original working parts. Please let me know.

Sorry Steve, I passed that on to someone else who needed a Monitor last year.
