What size house battery bank do you have?
Hi,
What size house battery bank do you have?
Is your fridge/freezer a RV or residential model?
What percentage of nights do you boondock/dry camp?
I am finalizing the purchase of a new house battery bank and interesting to hear what folks have.
Thanks,

I have 3 - 100ah UPS AGM batteries for the coach .I am also using the same battery for the chassis. I have a RV fridge and a small 250 watt inverter. I boondock about 40% of the time with the trips ranging from 2 to 5 days. The generator will run for about a half hr in the morning during breakfast. Our loads are minimal and we have no problem with battery capacity.

Hi all,
My fridge is propane.
My solar setup is 200w portable, this is deliberate as in Michigan the coaxh is often in shade.
My new to me coach has two 12 volt marine batteries which are shot. I will ordering 4 Lifeline gpl 4ct for a total of 440AH. Thats a big step up from the 232 AH in my old coach.
I will changing my convertor to a 4 stage model.

1stmh-
2 x 6V = 220 Ah
RV refrigerator
No solar
No boondocking at all
If I wanted to boondock more than a night here and there I'd install two additional 6V batteries, totaling (when new) 440Ah. The only problem is now I'd be mixing old and new batteries, which is doable but not ideal (or so I'm told).

Lithium, 10kWh
Residential - Samsung 23 cu. ft. Counter Depth 4-Door (RF24FSEDBSR)
Boondock 80% (actually logged, not a guess)
The magic that makes it possible: 1.7kW solar (no generator)

Hi Mark,
I hear you about mixing batteries, when I apoke to Randy at Best Convertor he reckoned that you could mix batteries that are up to 6 months in age.
That leads to an interesting dilemma if one battery had to placed under warranty, will the whole bank need to be replaced. I think thats a discussion for a new thread.
Hi Jnfm,
Did I read that correct, 10 kWH? That must of cost the price of a high end car.

In my opinion, it's not about price, it's about capability!! The ability to live (and work, in my case ) very comfortably in the forest, far from everything, for long periods of time without ever having to listen to a generator is a wonderful thing. Again, in my opinion. Not for everyone and I am thankful for that.

I hear you on that, it is indeed all about capability.
I must presume when you are buying in bulk there was a significant discount.

Not sure about bulk. I bought a complete battery "system" that included BMS. Details are here. I am very happy with it.
