Whirlpool Fridge

Our Whirlpool Fridge started acting up with the touch panel lights all lighting when any button is pressed on the pad. The unit still cools/freezes fine with the exception that you cannot control anything. Went to appliance repair website and was led to the membrane/circuit board being bad so ordered and replaced same to no avail.
Have any of you run into this type of problem and know of a solution?

Thanks
Ron K.

If so, double check all connections/connectors for any moisture and/or corrosion, breaks, and a tight fit. (Unfortunately, not easy to check without destroying the part if you already installed it, because it's basically glued on.)

Else the only other thing I can think of is an issue with the wiring from the dispenser control board to the main control board (can't find a part # for that), or the main control board itself. (https://partsdr.com/blog/whirlpool-p...-instructions/), or you got a bad replacement part.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did get it resolved, after much hunting online for board voltages. Yes, the symptoms were that the control board was bad, replaced to no avail until I was able to check voltages. Lo and behold the wires going from the "hi-voltage" board to the control board were pinched and intermittent at the top of the door where they go down thru the door hinge. Repaired same and we now have full function. Long day pulling it out, repairing, and reinstalling! I don't want to have to do that again!!
