We have a Whirlpool residential refrigerator with the freezer portion being a drawer like pullout on the bottom. The auto ice cube maker is along the left side. The ice cubes in the front left corner closest to the seal on that side of the pull out drawer always freeze in a block. I've inspected the seal on the drawer on that side and it looks perfectly fine. Anyone else with this particular Whirlpool (Model WRF540CWHZ01) have similar issues and know of a fix?

Either the temp is too high or you have an air leak. Just my .02

Just wondering, could the front of the ice maker be low compared to the back and the water level in the front therefore is higher than the cube forms? Anyway to put a level on the ice maker front to back to see if it is in fact out of level? If you do find that the front is low, it makes me wonder if the refrigerator / slide are somehow out of level or, possibly, once you are set up with the jacks down, if the coach is leaning towards the driver side, with the driver side being low? I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but the auto level function for your motorhome is based on a reference unit that is in your hydraulic pump basement storage compartment. If for some reason that reference unit is out of calibration, the auto level will actually put you out of level. But first things first, check the level of your ice maker. The other thing may be that the water level and the ice maker is just too high when it fills. Hope this is helpful.

It doesn't matter so much what the seal looks like. Old school test is to shut the door on a dollar bill. The pull the bill out, looking for a fair amount of resistance. If it basically just falls back out, you've found it.

It can be that the seal is just fine but the door is out of adjustment. Every time I've had such icing the first thing I look for is a door seal issue. Well, second thing. Primary cause is people who think the freezer has an infinite capacity and toss stuff in any which old way.

Are you speaking of the cubes already dumped into the bucket? Or in the ice-maker itself? If the former, please ignore my post.

I verified the temp, and it appears to be set normally according to other owners of the same coach make/model/year.

In the plastic cube receptacle below the actual ice maker. The cubes that collect in that front left corner of that plastic receptacle always form into a block like warm air is getting to that section causing the ice cubes to partially melt then freeze into a block.

I took a dollar bill and tested the seal tightness as you described. I felt no difference at any point I tested along all four sides. The bill would stay in place when I let go of it, but it was fairly easy to pull it out with the freezer drawer shut as well. I tested with the dollar bill on the refrigerator doors as well just as a comparison with the same results.

Hi all! We purchased our new 2020 Newmar Kountry Star about a month ago and we are new to iRV2. We have a very similar Whirlpool French Door fridge WRF560SEHZ00. The fridge/freezer just started to leak. When I opened the freezer drawers in the bottom floor of the freezer, I saw big flat (sheet) pieces of ice had formed. It looks like something is causing water from the icemaker to drip inside the freezer until it freezes on the freezer floor.

The best part is when I try to remove the top drawer, I can't find out how to detach the top drawer from the slide rail that allows the top drawer to slide. I want to remove the drawers so I can get a better look. I've tried countless YouTube vids, checked the owners manual but have had no luck. Would any of you kind folks have any ideas on a) what is causing the leak or b) how to remove both drawers from the freezer.
