Whirlpool washer won't start

Our Fleetwood Expedition came with a stacked Whirlpool washer, mod WFC7500VW2, and dryer. This washer wood only start as intended about 1 out of 20 times. Had 2 service calls and they replaced the door lock once which didn't improve the problem.

We traded this coach in on a new 2014 Discovery which unfortunately has the same model washer with the same problem. We have had 2 service calls, again one replacing the door lock. Repairman gets it to work and then on the next trip it won't. We are usually, not always, successful in getting it going by slamming the door or holding tension on it and continually trying to drain and empty and restart. Once we get it to run a load it will normally do a second OK but then the next trip out we have the same problem. We literally probably spend at least 20 minutes fooling with it to get it to start. I don,t like washing clothes but this really makes it a burden. ANY IDEAS????

We had similar problems with our new to us 12 discovery with stacked whirlpool. We found you fill it with clothes, press start button for at least 5 seconds and then release and WALK AWAY. It takes it awhile (maybe a minute) before it starts. We were too impatient. Its weird how it works but we learned to accept it! Does a fine job now washing soiled clothes. Don weaver

We have the same washer and when the door switch went out it had to be ordered. It took 5 months for the part to become available. By that time Whirlpool replaced the whole washer with the same model.

That's what I have learned to do. The first few times I tried to start it, I know now that I didn't give it enough time. I even called Whirlpool to ask for help and was told they'd have to send a repairman. The door locks and then it sits there. I have no idea what it's doing unless it's sensing the weight but eventually, it will start the cycle.
