Will Xantrex RV 2012 run on 20 amp circuit?
Before hurricane Ian I was enjoying covered parking with 50 amp service. Now all is gone with the wind, currently parked in the open w/o power.
I have located another covered spot that only has 20 amp available. With no other loads, will my inverter charge batteries on 20 amp?

Yes, but it is up to you to watch the loads
If the battery charger is really working you’ll be down to 12 amps or so
Just pay attention or you’ll be resetting the breakers a lot

According to the owners manual, it will charge batteries on lower amperage shore power. Needs to be setup in the settings menu. Process varies with which control panel you have or set up on the unit itself. Here is a link to the owners manual.
It also says it will charge batteries with the invertor itself turned off. That could be handy to prevent overdrawing shore power amps, tripping a breaker.

Thanks for the reply and input. I will have all other loads off via salesman switch and engine electric cutoff.
Plan B is to use two battery tenders on the 20 amp circuit.

I have the same inverter. You can go into the menu and select the amperage you want charging at.
But if all you are doing is maintaining the batteries you shouldn't have a problem.
FWIW I have a garage with 50 amp circuit but decided to plug into a 15 amp timer and have it set to charge the batteries for 4 hours on Friday. I installed a Victron battery monitor with bluetooth so whenever I'm in the garage I just pull it up on my phone. Over the course of a week the battery level will drop to ~96-7%. I have the salesman switch off and I turned off the inverter (which is a pretty high parasitic draw).
I've done this to try and reduce my overall power consumption. Current power bills have climbed with higher service rate, energy charges, etc.

Thanks for that helpful info! I will research Victron monitor.

I frequently ran my RV 2512 on a 15A shore power circuit. As others said, just don't try to run too many things at once.

As mentioned, you go into the inverter/charger programming and limit the amps of 120 VAC to be used for charging. Will be discussed in the inverter/charger owner's manual.
A setting of 5 amps is plenty adequate for keeping batteries charged. That 5 amps of 120 VAC will give you a potential charge rate of 40+ at 14 VDC.
That will leave you more amps for other things in your coach.

You will be fine on a 20-amp circuit, heck you can even run one AC unit on 20 amps.
