Winterizing and fresh water tank

Hi,

Our rv has a port near water pump for winterizing our rv with antifreeze and I know the procedure for doing that. My question is about protecting the fresh water tank from freezing. Even if I open the drain valves on my fresh water tank there is always about an inch of water left. So that leaves me with some water in the freshwater tank and the water line to the pump. It does not seem as though this line would be removable the way it is attached. Any suggestions on protecting this from freezing. It seems as though adding antifreeze here it would be diluted by the remaining water.

Thanks

Because of the surface area of the tank, the remaining water will expand up/mushroom and not damage the tank; but you have to be sure all water lines are empty. You may have to disconnect the line to the pump to allow that line to drain via gravity.

The antifreeze valve being open allows any water to drain out out of the line and back into the tank.

I just completely drain my freshwater tank and clear the drain line with air. I never add anything to the fresh tank for winterizing. I also isolate and drain the hot water heater and leave it empty.
