2014 bounder 35k. Lost some power to inside from shore connection. My monitor says L1 neutral>grd. When I check my shore switch I have white to red equals 110v. White to black 120v. White to white from gen zero. White to white from chassis side to white shore side 120volts. I’m thinking it should be zero. Just wondering if it should be zero or 120. Any help. thankyou.

Red and black should be power inputs, white is neutral. So white to white should be 0.

Correct.


And because you (the OP) mention L1 and L2, we will assume that you have standard 50 amp RV shore power.


Outer straights are the hots (L1 and L2)
Center straight is neutral
Center round is ground.


So from either outer straight to either center round or center straight= 120 VAC
Outer straight to outer straight= 240 VAC
Center round to center straight= 0 VAC

Thanks for replies 😀. To verify a couple of things. I am hooked to shore power from house 120 volt, using two adapter plugs to my 50 amp cord. I have tested all plugs and cord everything is good. Power from house good. I moved to my shop and tried it 12o volts at shop plug and plug was tested with polarity test. Ok. I can not recall ever checking monitor when hooked to 120 volt. Everything seems to be ok in unit power wise and then I’ll return to no power. Fridge goes back to gas. Monitor reads Wiring status error, L1 neutral. L1<>L2, L1=ground, neutral>ground. Manual says to disconnect from shore power. Everything reads correct on generator. Mystery to me is neutral chassis side to shore side 120 volt

I found the problem with my shore wiring. The extension cord between house and motor home had reversed polarity. I rewired plug and everything works fine. Just for clarity. I had checked polarity from house plug previously ! I had not thought to check extension . A dangerous situation I am sure! A big Thank you

Test on my 40260 power interrupt switch. On my last testing I was reading 36.8 volts between neutral and ground. Should not be more than 2volts. Zero is best. This is my understanding from trouble shooting -u tube. Verified Electrcian’s. They said problem would be in junction from supply my neutral and Lead were swapped I hope this helps
