My Xantrex 1800 inverter will shutdown after a variable period of time (hours or minutes). It feeds the residential refrigerator, microwave, TV's and a kithchen outlet. I have checked the battery wiring to the inverter, chassis ground, batteries (new Trojan 105's) and A/C wiring to the circuit breaker panel. I monitor the batteries with a BMI and when the shutdown occurs the voltage is 13.6 or higher. The amperage is around 7. There are no alarms from the remote panel and its display goes blank except for the backlight.

Looking for some feedback from someone who has experienced the same. The inverter has been replaced and both units do the same shutdown.

So new batteries, and two different inverters shut down intermittently?

Have you monitored the voltage right at the batteries? Is there a remote panel that you could try disconnecting just to try and isolate?

Do you have 4 gauge, or larger, cables going to it from the battery, both + and - ?

Any chance there is an auto reset circuit breaker in the circuit? The lack of fault codes on two units would indicate a possible complete momentary loss of power resetting the inverter to an off condition maybe. Just about any issue I can think of other than complete temporary loss of power to the inverter should result in an alarm or a fault code.

Edit to add, if you have a remote on off switch maybe disconnect the cable at the inverter to rule out a strange fault with the remote switch.

Does your inverter have proper air flow for cooling? My 2200 watt inverter has shutdown when I left my pass through storage doors closed while under heavy load running air conditioning. Does fine with door open.

To answer all the appreciated input:
The cables to the inverter from the batteries are large gauge, perhaps multi strand welding cable. The voltage drop is .020 volts from batteries to inverter.
The remote controls the power up of the inverter. It has been replaced also. I will move the remote to the inverter, thus removing the phone cable from the equation.
The shutdown problem happens when on the road. Could very well be a heat issue. Does anyone happen to have a 2017 Thor Challenger 37YT that could tell me where their inverter is mounted? Mine is in the upper left hand corner of the storage bay just to the right of the generator bay.
