Does anyone work HF and if so, what band do you normally work and is there any freq that you usually use?
Thought we might be able to establish something like a call freq for us on iRV2? Would have to be a common freq for most.... Just a thought.???

I chase DX so I follow the propagation. There is a west coast RV net on 7268.5 and another on the east coast but I don't know the freq. For rag chewing at nite, 80 or 40 are good in these times of light SSNs.

Vetteracer,
I like to hang around on 17 meters. I just bought a new coach, so I don't have my radio in it yet. However, I still have one in my PT Cruiser (Yaesu FT857) into an ATAS100 antenna. If oyu want, give me a time, day and frequency, and I'll try and hook up with you.
I'm just outside Cleveland, Ohio.

There a couple nets there that cover the 5 call area pretty good .
one 0n 7230 7 to 8 am centeral time and at night 7253 7pm ct and a 14.263 a ladies and a om net later around 1 or 2 pm if I right.
they would be a good place to start ,at least to see how things would work. $0 meters will not cover the us nor 20 meters I think it will have to be a WARC band if you want to just one freq. 75 meters at night will cover a lot too without the broadcast stations like 40
While mobiling try 146.52 it seems prety quite ,everyone is listening ???

I have found that there is a net for RVer's but have not locked down the freq yet. Had someone tell me that there was a net on 7.2300 daily at 1230 UTC and 14.3075 at 2230 UTC. I have not talked to anyone so I can't say if everything is true or not but I will continue to explore this avenue. In the meantime I will continue to have fun on both HF and 2 meters.

There are several HF frequencies for RV'rs.
Daily: 7-9 AM, 7.230 MHZ; 1:30 - 2 PM 14.263 MHZ; 8:30 PM 7.281 (7287 Alt)
Monday thru Friday: 7:30 - 8 AM 7.233 MHZ; 9 - 11 AM 7.263 (7668 Alt); 12 Noon and 5 PM EST 14.307 MHZ;
The daily net on 14.263 seems to cover the CONUS , but is somewhat focused on FMCA although everyone is welcomed.
Another good net is South CARS on 7.251 7:30 AM and then again around 2 PM. There a lot of RV people in this net and they cover the south very well.
If you are looking for controlled DX contacts try 14.247 MHZ at 4 PM EST.

Thanks FLYTYER, that is exactly what I was looking for. I'll give it a go. I think I've checked into the South CARS net but didn't know it had to do with RV'ers. I'll print this off and hang it. Thanks!

I forgot to include a link to the RV Service Net. The info I provided is maintained by these folks and maybe more current.
