I think you'll regret using a through the glass antenna, anything outside will be better than that. Ken's ideas above is probably the best with what you have to work with. You might see if there is room in the gap between the hood and fender to drill a couple of holes and place a mount there. A friend of mine with a Toyota pickup does his that way.
