Bluetooth solar charge controller

Hi,

I have two 100w Renogy portable panels which I hook up to a 30A Renogy Adventurer PWM charge controller.

I changed coaches in May so have not mounted the contoller yet, its sitting loose in the battery compartment.

I need to mount the charge controller in an adjoining bay, I am wondering am I better off getting a bluetooth charge contoller? I already use a Victron BMV 712 bluetooth battery monitor and like the utility of it. I do not plan to add roof top solar.

Thanks,

I have my controller under a draw in the bedroom, it has very poor bluetooth connection to my phone in the center or front of the coach. I would think putting it in a bay would make it worse, I have heard others have better luck with the bluetooth connection then I do.

I have the 712 and 2 Victron smart solar controllers, it is nice to see what your panels are doing and not have to run wires to a meter inside.

It's not cheap...but if you get one of the Victron SmartSolar VE.Smart Network compatible controllers...the BMV-712 has a battery temp accessory available. The BMV and MPPT network to share the voltage and temperature...so the MPPT can better compensate it's charge parameters.

I love the Victron Connect app for control and monitoring.
