Charge controller for lithium batteries

I was thinking about upgrading to lithium batteries, will I have to get a. New controller? Now have a Go Power 30 amp, says nothing about it in the manual.

Victron controllers are configurable for lithium as are many others. Basically you need to be able to program the bulk and float voltages, adjust the absorb time and disable the temperature compensation and the equalization mode. I am not familiar with the Go Power controller so I can't answer if it is able to do those things.

Per Battleborn:
"You do not need a special charger to charge your LFP deep cycle battery. As I mentioned above the battery prefers to bulk charge at 14.4 volts and float at 13.6 volts. Most standard chargers can handle these settings. There are some made for lithium chargers available on our store page and they will charge faster than a regular charger in most cases."

If you mean charge controller, call BB, they can tell you if it can be changed to the proper settings, if it is the PWM model, does not look like it has a lithium profile. As mentioned, the Victron series are adjustable and many are bluetooth enabled so you can control them from your phone or tablet.

LifePO4 is listed in their spec.

They also have Set Up videos.

Although BB can tolerate Lead Acid settings, it is inferior to strait 14.4v setting.
Also some LA chargers have an equalization setting well above 14.4v, BB should disconnect itself if that happens. But I do not have a strong sense of trust.
