DC clamp on recomendation

Can anyone recomend a decent dc clamp on meter, that won't break the bank? I will be starting a small diy solar setup and would like to pick up a meter. The clamp on I have is only good for AC, as far as I know.

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog

It's $50 now, but there's no inflation!

https://www.amazon.com/Multimeter-BT...1596492&sr=8-2

I already have two Clampmeters...but I purchased this one to add to the collection.

I haven’t watched the video...but I did see a YouTube title of someone berating this meter...so, it might not be the be all end all.

What I like about it are the Blue tooth feature...and the functions, like Capacitance, that my other meters lacked.

There are a couple of ways to test capacitors...using an old analog meter and looking for a needle swing...or a direct measure using a digital meter with capacitance function. I recently had to troubleshoot my Dometic heat pump. The 15/55 uFd dual run capacitor was faulty. This meter allowed me to quickly troubleshoot the problem...and verify the replacement part I was installing was up to spec.

The BT allows you to record measurements...or be near but not right on top of the meter to read. I have recorded amp readingS while driving....both from my battery bank and alternator...to record the current use while operating an A/C unit off inverter. Sometimes you can’t stand next to the chassis battery to measure when going down the road doing 65mph... but you can with Bluetooth.
