Seems like if it really worked like they say, more folks would already be using it.

Every few Months/Years this Hydrogen Generation (Browns Gas) surfaces! if it really worked as advertised all Your Neighbours would already have a Vehicle running on Water and the Fuel Companies would be lowering Their Prices in panic.
Yes it is possible to generate a small amount of Hydrogen which is injected into an Engine ,by appliing an Electric Current in a kind of Reverse Battery, but realistically it isn't enough to make any real difference and the energy gained is offset by the energy needed to produce it!
Now a Diesel Engine can be built ,that when combined with a small, light vehicle can actually yield 100 KM per Litre!

Several years ago I experimented with this on a 1992 Cadillac with a fuel injected Chevy 350cid engine. The engine had about 135,000 miles and got 19 MPG at the start of my experiment. I made an HHO generator and measured the results. I did this for 2 summers and disconnected during the winter.
To make a long story short:
1) when running on HHO the engine piston ping was gone. When I turned off the HHO the engine would ping again - slight ping after a couple weeks and back to pre-HHO state in about 4 months.
2) Read all of this – with HHO my mileage increased over a period of about a month from 19 MPG to 21MPG BUT upon disconnecting the HHO the mileage remained at 21 MPG. This was on summer gas, same gas station, same route to/from work (fairly controlled situation).
3) I haven’t hooked HHO back up for 1 ½ years now and I still measure 20.5 MPG at 170,000 miles. I do have noticeable piston ping when under load.
My best guess is that the HHO cleaned out and sealed up the engine; the piston rings/valves sealed tighter/better than ever before. The quieting of the piston ping seemed to be directly related to using HHO – maybe due to a smoother burn or maybe the computer (1992 OBD I system) adjusted a little due to the HHO mix. But HHO did stop the pinging.
This was a 5,000 lb car that I drive like an old man (because that is what I am:>). I saw a 10% increase in mileage, but I maintained the increase without HHO for the last 1 ½ years.

Hokus-Pokus now you see your money and now you do not. IMHO this is just more snake oil to cure all ills. Even if it did work it would be grossly overpriced.

In spite of the claims and anecdotal reports they don't work. So far there are no
studies done by reputable organizations that show any increase in mileage.
The energy required to generate the hydrogen and oxygen is more than the energy
produced when the gasses are burned in the engine - just as predicted by the First
and Second laws of Thermodynamics.
I have personal knowledge of one installation done by a friend on a small car. He
bought the recommended equipment including an overpriced ammeter and a device to re-flash the settings for the oxygen sensor. He followed the instructions exactly
and verified the process with frequent conversations with the manufacturer.
He kept very accurate records of mpg for three months before and after the installation. There was no increase in mileage.
He also found out the "money back guarantee" was worthless. In the very fine print
they said the installation had to be done by a "certified installer" - and the
only ones were at their place of business.

one of the coaches i looked at had one of these units installed. the owner, who was not the installer, knew absolutely nothing regarding the unit. i was not about to enlighten him on it, either... the coach had ENOUGH rigging jobs of his doing already.
the theory behind it's use is actually sound. the THEORY is sound. the actual application of the technology, using the various and sundry bitsa that is available, is little more than a science project. i'd hazard a guess that MOST if ANY actual benefit is from water vapor being drawn into the fuel stream, acting as a coolant.

A good friend has an hho system on his f250.
He swears he gets both a larger power boost and significantly better mileage, along with lower egt's.
He's from canada, and very slow to part with a dollar...
