FLYPOWER LifePo4 Battery 12v 240Ah

I see these on Amazon with some pretty decent reviews. Does anyone have experience or comments about these batteries as a replacement for 4 coach batteries in an 06 Newmar MADP with a ME2012 inverter. Future will also do 1350w solar.

Thanks!

I wonder about the 14 F limit on charging/discharging. Seems much lower than other lithium batteries that do not have built in heaters. Personally would pay the extra money for a battery with a longer track record and warranty.

I found some specs and they say max charge rate is < 50 amps.

I wonder if you have to charge them thru the charge port, rather then the posts.Click image for larger version

I read thru the questions on amazon and they told someone you could charge via your current charging system. All these specs are "Greek" to me, so not sure which specs are important and what the values should be for a MADP.

If you read the detailed specs, charging is only good down to 32 F, about the same as other unheated lithium batteries. Charger is 10 amps.

$904 with free shipping from Aliexpress.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001423875806.html

I see a bit of confusing info, some sites I see 100amps charging, and I see above its <50. I also now see different prices but ship dates are different, even from the same company. I think the 10amp charging is from their charger, and not the builtin coaches system.

I checked BB and their batteries can charge down to 24, which is only 6 less, so doesn't seem that big a deal. no?

No, charging temps not much difference, so if in cold temps, you will need a heated compartment or some sort of heating pads. I keep mine in an insulated compartment will a small heater on a thermostat. For me it would boil down to customer support and warranty. If I was starting all over again, and could afford to lose the money, might try one though.

It is most likely the BMS that is limiting the max charge rate to 50A. If you had two of these batteries then max charge rate would be 100A.

Amazon specs differ from Aliexpress specs.

Amazon Specifications:
1.Certificate: CE ROHS MSDS UN38.3
2.Upgrade Parts/Accessories: Grade A
3.Material: Lithium iron phosphate
4.Max continuous charge current: 1C (ie 240AH)
5.Max continuous discharge current: 1C
6.Peak discharge current: 2C in three to five seconds

Aliexpress Specs
Max Charge Current: <50A (ie 0.2C)
Cold Cranking Amps: 1440A (ie 6C), IMO: A very expensive BMS.

Either Aliexpress is fraudulently selling you a Lead Acid battery or they failed to clean up their PR and spec sheet. A copy, edit, paste error.

I might buy from Amazon, but I must have the right to free returns and refunds, for a limited period.

Old Motorola Fire and Police Radio story. Japan brand salesman agreed Moto had a more reliable product. But you can buy 4 of ours for the price of 1 of theirs. If 1 breaks, your still ahead 2. Moto lost a lot of sales.

Thanks for input! All leads me to look for a better solution. Is this a better battery?

Price is good but same situation as the Flypower, no local support.
Also no mention of high and low temp protection, might not be important depending on how you travel, but is a consideration.
I would email them and ask about returns, protection etc.
Noticed some of the good reviews were for smaller batteries.

Question is... do you want to buy a LiPo battery from a no name company that has somehow found a way to sell a battery that everyone else would charge $3000 for at the cut rate price of just $1,500?

You know when buying things many times you find out in the long run that a "too low" price is just as undesirable as a "too high" price.

The majority of reputable LiPo battery sellers, nationwide, are charging between $800 to $1000 per 100 amp hours of capacity and backing up those batteries with warranty and service. This last battery on Amazon you linked to is selling for 1/2 the price of other known quality batteries. What do you think would permit them to reduce the retail price by 50%?

It has a 10-year warranty - not from Amazon - from the battery company. Will that company be around in 10 years? Were they around 1-year ago? How will you reach them when your $1,500 cut rate battery dies 10-months from now? Do you speak Mandarin Chinese? What if it damaged your RV???

Beware of fake reviews!

Iím always a little dubious of products on Amazon that donít have very many reviews. In this case, some of the very positive reviews and associated names struck me as a bit strange.
If you copy and paste the web address into fakespot.comís analyzing tool, it will give a grade for the reviews on any particular product on Amazon.

Thanks for the link, looks like this battery gets an F in review analysis.
