MPPT Controller Sizing Help

I need to confirm what size MPPT controller will work with these panels. I'm looking at 4 renogy 300watt 24v panels in parallel. The open circuit voltage is 39.82v and short circuit current is 9.78amps per panel. I am planning on a victron smart solar 150/85 MPPT controller. Is there anything i am not considering or a reason this wont work?

Thanks,

Fred

Why are you planning on running them in parallel?

Will work, might consider series/parallel also, you will be able to use smaller wiring.

Running series parallel would let you get away with running much smaller wire size from the panels to the MPPT controller.

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog
A 150/85 amp should be fine. X4 on series-parallel.

Consider the Victron Smart Controller with bluetooth capability, I love mine. So easy to check and make changes to settings. Checkout the Victron site new MPPT sizing calculator, https://www.victronenergy.com/solar-charge-controllers. The 150/85 is perfect for your panels. The AmSolar site (https://amsolar.com/rv-solar/support) and Renogy site is very helpful, particularly this Renogy Installation Guide. Good luck with your install, I really liked doing mine!
