MT 50 Settings

Hi guys, I just changed out my controller and added an epever bn 40 amp with an mt 50 meter. I have 320 watts of solar and 4 6v gc2 batteries {flooded} in series parallel. Does anyone have any idea what the correct settings i should use ? I have set the batteries to flooded and amp hours to 460 as they are 230 ah for each battery.
Any help would be appreciated, Thank You

You have 230 amp-hours of 12 volt power with your pair of 6 volt batteries wired in series. Use 230, not 460 for the amp-hours setting in your battery monitor.
I am not familiar with the equipment you mentions so can't offer other advice.

Why would one want to set a battery monitor to show only 1/2 of the actual battery bank capacity? At a 50% SOC reading the bank would only be 25% depleted.

I reread this a few times and if I interpret the OP statement correctly each of the four 6V batteries has a capacity of 230 AH. When wired in a 2P2S configuration you get 460 AH at 12V. The easiest math for that is 4x6Vx230AH = 920 Watt Hours. 920 WHr/12V = 460 AH @ 12V.

I have the MT50 and a different ePEVER Charge Controller. I don't think the Battery capacity makes any difference to it because the only information it gets is current going into the battery and the battery voltage. At least on my system, it doesn't know anything about current out of the battery. I spent a fair bit of time researching the charge controller settings and ultimately just took the defaults for flooded lead acid. I took some time to make a spread sheet that all the controller settings and compared those to several a couple of Battery MFG recommendations. I think I attached a PDF of the charge settings and some notes I made to myself in the spreadsheet. We will see once I submit this.

You have it set right, 2 sets of 6 volt, 230 AH batteries is 460 AH.

The controller wants the AH capacity to set the absorb time. Bigger battery bank = longer absorb time.

Sorry I missed the point of four batteries not two. You are correct that you have 460AH.

Thanks Guys for the info and thank you Tomahawk for the additional settings which is what i was really looking for, I do see they are Default or trojan battery settings and mine are deka gc2 batteries, I presume the default settings would be the one I should use.

Thanks Again

Twinboat - Good point. I thought I changed the AH setting and it didn't change but it has been a while and your explanation makes sense to me.

Popeye, the sheet I posted has 4 columns, the default column, the actual settings I used, the trojan battery recommended settings, and the US batteries recommended settings. You could go to deka website to see what they recommend. You can see the charge settings are all pretty close since they are all for flooded lead acid batteries. The equalizations voltages are the largest differences.
