My new simple solar

Just spent a week at the beach after installing a roof mounted 100 AMP Renolgy panel with a simple 30 amp controller. It was foggy for at least half of each day and my single AGM battery never dropped below 12.1 volts and even went into float mode several times. Admittedly we are very conservative with usage but I do spend a couple hours reading with one or two LED lights burning and the propane fridge does use some 12 Volt, plus the water pump. When I did the install added an outside plug so that I could add an additional panel if needed but that now seems unlikely.. I am more that pleased.

Congrats! Solar sure is nice to have to just keep the battery(s) getting some charge on most days. You can't beat the silence they generate also

PS: If you ever needed another panel for that outside plug, just find a used one with similar specs/voltages on craigslist or FB Marketplace or Nextdoor. I found several 100w 12v panels for an upcoming install for $25 each (...tested them each prior to purchasing). Just for kicks, I even recently created a simple portable 100w system that I could leave on my boat when it is stored to keep the two 12v deepcycle batteries topped off. I recently let my neighbor with a pop-up trailer use that portable system when they went camping and they loved it...
