Replacing 912 bulbs w/LED's

What watt and brand have you bought and do you like them. Too many choices on Amazon and big price spread.

912 incandescent bulbs use a T5 wedge base. At 13 watts, they give off 151 lumens. In an LED, the base must match and you want as close to 151 lumens or more of light energy. The color, or temperature in kelvins is very important. Don't go by 'warm' or 'cool' or other imprecise descriptions that can be variable. Kelvins is a more accurate definition of color. Incandescent light is 2700º K. I think anything above 4000º K is too harsh, but that's a personal opinion. Use this information to choose your lights.

tmw188-

For a common product like LED bulbs, sometimes it's better to pay a little more and buy from a specialized seller. One I have used repeatedly is superbrightleds. Others on iRV2 have bought from M4 Products. Both Web sites have tools to help you narrow down the choices. Check the return policies; I vaguely remember sending some mis-ordered product back to superbrightleds without penalty.

I agree with Bob, and buy "warm white" (2700 to 3000K) bulbs for interior purposes. For exterior bulbs, I buy red or amber LEDs for use under red or amber lenses (respectively), and use a bluer "daylight white" bulb for under clear lenses (e.g., backup lights).

I've been pleased with some specialized LEDs I've purchased from Marinebeam, but wouldn't usually buy run-of-the-mill bulbs from them ($$$). I learned some new things reading articles on their Web site "Technical" section.

All good info from both of you. I have a Super Bright LED store near me. I'll have to stop in there. Not really pleased with the ones offered on Amazon. Thanks for the detailed info!

I have used these, they have worked well in my 5ver when the light fixture is low. Examples, overhead at bed, overhead at couch and above the kitchen counter. Not as pleased with them high like in the living room or over the bath vanity, to dim. But I haven't had one failure with them.

For areas where I wasn't pleased with these lamps I went with super bright. For me it worked and I didn't spend $10 to $15 per lamp for all my needs.
