Solar set up questions

I have a 2010 Winnebago Adventurer 35p, it comes with a 10w solar panel (useless) I wanted to add (2)100 Watt Pannels, what do I need besides the panels, can I just disconnect the 10w and connect the 100s? I do not know if my model has the junction box due to it being older. I know the new ones have it but I do not see it on my roof. I don't need anything crazy, just wanted something to power my incidentals without killing my battery. (fridge on gas, co2 alarm and things that draw low amperage that are always on)

Will something like this work?

https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-Monocr...-garden&sr=1-9

or this one, it comes with a box (not sure if its needed or not)
https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-Monocr...garden&sr=1-27

https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-Monocr...23&sr=8-3&th=1

I would ultimately like to use the existing wiring, not sure if that is an option or not.

Thanks
Jeff

You need to determine the maximum amperage of you solar charge controller. You also need to determine the gauge of the wires going between the panels and charge controller and batteries. Hopefully you have 10 gauge wire available to use.

Jeff,

Your 10 W solar panel most likely does not have a charge controller and runs directly to the chassis batteries and does not provide any charge to your house batteries.

So, to charge your house batteries you will need to run new wire to a solar controller and then to your house batteries.

Solar set up questions

What they said [emoji115]

Plus:

Get a good charge controller, a good battery monitor, and use the correct gage wires. Wiring that is too small will loose your amperage from the panels.

Get informed about solar. Knowledge is power.

There is a lot to read here. But explains a lot.
