Here is a picture of my hookup. The wires are not the exact same length. I don't quite know what you mean by corner to corner, they are on a buss bar for both the positive and the negative. I do not have a small torque wrench so I can't say for sure on that part.
My other question is about the circuit breaker tripping. The controller is set at 35 amps, and the circuit breaker is 40 amps.

I noted mention of #10 wire being good for 30 amps. This dates from the old 60C insulation temperature rating. As with all things, life is more complicated these days.

#10 wire is often rated 90C. 90C #10 is good for 40 amps in a conduit and somewhat higher in free air.

At some point I got a bunch of #10 solar wire. It's 90C and is even rated for direct burial. The insulation is very tough. I have no qualms about pushing over 40 amps though it. I've never felt it more than a but warm.

As always, check ring terminal temperatures. Watch voltage drop. Etc.
