WHOA Stop the bus

Went to a Victron training seminar that is traveling around the country side today, so much good information and so many possibilities/options my head is still spinning couldn't soak it all in.

I’ve seen a lot of questions on this forum as to what to expect and how to design a system.

The options were presented, from how to program your backup generator to work efficiently, to controlling the battery charger to only come on when the power rate is the lowest, to turning on aux. cooling fans to keep the charge controller from derating because of heat. (not even scratching the surface)

They have local, regional, and across the country installer/consultants rotate in and out. We had one installer even set up a tool display to show what worked and didn’t for him. Their favorite saying seemed to be “yes that can be done” and very few nos.

Thanks for posting this. I would have never known of it otherwise. Timing is perfect for me for the Reno stop on 27 Oct!

I love the Victron Energy products. I use the Cerbo GX and VRM portal to monitor and manage my four MPPT controllers, Multiplus 3000VA inverter/charger and BMV-712 smart shunt. The Cerbo GX is used to automate power shifting of multiple home circuits via a 120 volt 50 amp relay under control of the Cerbo GX feeding power to a home manual transfer switch. I save about $30/month using 2040 watts of trailer mounted solar.

The system also serves as a home UPS during power outages. For longer outages after dark I plug my trailer into my Honda EU2200 generator. The inverter/charger handles the surges and the generator keeps the batteries from discharging after dark.
