RICHMOND, VA (March 18, 2008) "” Fans pulling in to Richmond International Raceway in their RVs for the May 2-3 NASCAR doubleheader weekend will be greeted by a familiar name in steering, towing, hitching and braking products. Track officials announced today that Blue Ox® has signed on as the official campground partner at America's Premier Short Track. Throughout all three race weekends during the 2008 season and beyond, all campgrounds at Richmond International Raceway will be known as the Blue Ox Campgrounds.

"Blue Ox is proud to be a part of the Richmond International Raceway family,"¯ said Jay Hesse, president of Blue Ox. "While our products are viewed as the best in the market, Richmond International Raceway's on-track excitement is viewed as some of the best on the NASCAR and IndyCar Series circuits. We look forward to providing excellent products for fans at the Blue Ox Campgrounds."¯

Adding a new fan-friendly dimension to Richmond International Raceway's campgrounds, Blue Ox will be offering free safety inspections of fans' RV towing equipment throughout the weekend in the specialty lot, as well as the Laburnum and Turn 4 campgrounds.

"We are excited to add Blue Ox as another great partner at Richmond International Raceway,"¯ said track president Doug Fritz. "The free safety inspections on race weekend will provide another fan-friendly element for our campers on track property. With a trusted name like Blue Ox, we are excited to have them as our official campground partner."¯

Richmond International Raceway is currently taking orders for the Blue Ox Campgrounds for the June 27-28 IndyCar Series weekend. To order a spot, guests should call 804-228-7500 ext. 4121. Guests who wish to add their name to our current waiting list for campsites on NASCAR weekends should submit their name, address, home and business phone numbers, e-mail address and the size of their camper to: Camping, P.O. Box 9257, Richmond, VA 23227.

The 2008 season at Richmond International Raceway kicks off May 2-3 for the NASCAR doubleheader at America's Premier Short Track. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers will battle it out "under the lights"¯ on Saturday, May 3 in the Crown Royal Presents The Dan Lowry 400. Tickets are on sale now and start at $80. The weekend begins on Friday, May 2, with practice and pole qualifying for the NASCAR Nationwide Series, as well as practice and Wawa Pole Qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Friday's ticket includes a seat for the NASCAR Nationwide Series 250 race "under the lights."¯ Friday's tickets are $45 (reserved) and $35 (general admission) in advance. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult on Friday only. For tickets and information, please call 866-455-7223 or visit www.rir.com.
