Recently Made Over Penn State Tailgating RV Set to Roll Into Blue-White Game
BARNESVILLE, Pa. - The Tarconish family, Barnesville, Pa., attended The Rally in Daytona Beach, Fla., with an out-dated 1984 Winnebago Chieftain. They left with a completely made over and almost unrecognizable motorhome thanks to the extreme makeover event RV Rescue lead by Dometic Corporation. The family's first opportunity to try out their refurbished RV will be at the Penn State Blue-White game at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, April 22.
Ed and Barb Tarconish acquired the motorhome when 19-year-old daughter Emily began attending Penn State as a journalism student. They have enjoyed tailgating at Penn State games ever since. Keeping that in mind, designer Melody Rose and the RV Rescue crew designed an RV fit for tailgating, complete with Penn State exterior graphics and interior décor touches, a wall-mounted TV that can slide out through a hatch for outside viewing and a grill platform that pulls out from under the rear bumper.
"We worked hard to create an RV the Tarconishes can truly enjoy," said Melody Rose, RV Rescue designer. "From their enthusiastic responses, I think we succeeded. It will be exciting to see them roll into a game and set up camp for the first time. What better place for them to try it out than at the Blue-White game?"
The makeover took place in just 75 hours between April 7 and 10, during which time the family was kept away from the RV. Dometic led the team of sponsors in creating a unique RV by donating a refrigerator, convection microwave, china toilet, patio awning with matching window awnings, heat pump/air conditioner, built-in vacuum cleaner and more. The unit received a slideout thanks to Lippert Components; a blue solid surface Samsung Staron countertop displaying the Penn State logo; Splendide RV washer and dryer and a Vesta dishwasher from Westland Sales; Jensen flat panel televisions and sound system; and many more features. Retail sponsor Camping World gave the Tarconishes Camping World Dollars and provided a team of installers to assist with the makeover.
The event will air on RVtoday on the Outdoor Life Network June 11-18 and June 25-July 1. For more information on RV Rescue, visit www.theRVRescue.com.
