RV Transport Drivers are Needed in Elkhart County Major Shortage Increase Wait Times
About 2,000 new drivers are needed to transport 25,000 to 35,000 finished RVs to dealerships around the country.
The Elkhart Truth, Elkhart County, IN -- If it seems there are more recreational vehicles than usual sitting around the Elkhart area, it's because there are.
The companies that RV makers pay to transport finished RVs to dealerships around the country are having an increasingly difficult time finding drivers, their representatives said Tuesday, April 15, at the RV/MH Hall of Fame.
An estimated 25,000 to 30,000 finished units are awaiting delivery, and RV transport firms need to hire about 2,000 new drivers to eliminate the driver shortage, said Dianne Farrell, vice president of government affairs with the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association.

Ernie, I'm just sharing the News with those folks that want to read it ...
I would suggest for more information; The RVIA has partnered with a job search website called www.findtherightjob.com and is encouraging transport firms to post help wanted ads on the site.
The article itself, on " The Truth" website, goes into detail. The rates were not shared in the article. Click here --> Continued ....

thanks- with the price of fuel going thru the roof, drivers must pass this on somehow. after years of working for just fuel, a price increase must be warranted

A "very real fact" is that the US buying public is also trying to get the best deal possible. This trickles down to the guys that are trying to earn a living. Hopefully volume might make the difference whereas in recent times we have seen where the RV Industry was on the ropes and there wasn't a lot of volume.
