Winnebago debuts Journey and EKKO at “The Road Ahead 2020”

FOREST CITY, IOWA, November 18, 2020 – Winnebago (WGO) , the world’s leading manufacturer of premium RVs, announced today the launch of its next generation of break through new product. At a virtual event featuring focused presentations from brand ambassadors, real time chat functionality, virtual 3D tours and a concierge Q&A break out, Winnebago will directly connect with over 7,000 pre-registered customers. “The Road Ahead” will showcase Winnebago’s smart approach to customer centric innovation with the all new Journey, EKKO, HIKE and Voyage vehicles. Scheduled to debut at noon central time on November 18, the event is available for viewing at www.Winnebago.com

Journey
An all-new, clean-sheet diesel pusher, the Journey offers a contemporary design, the largest storage capacity in its class, and the industry’s quietest ride. The Journey is built on the Freightliner® XCM Chassis with an integrated Maxum IITM foundation with power supplied by a 380-hp Cummins® ISL 8.9L.




“The Journey delivers an exceptionally quiet, comfortable ride with smooth, precise handling,” said Brian Hazelton Senior Vice President, Winnebago-brand RVs. “The Journey is the culmination of everything we’ve learned in our storied history, and is a superlative coach designed to delight customers for the long haul.”

Outfitted with the new Winnebago Connect smart coach system, the Journey allows you to control and monitor key aspects of your coach from your mobile device including monitoring tank resources, climate and battery levels.

2021 Winnebago Journey

The Journey will be available in three floorplans (34N, 36K and 40P) with premium amenities, best-in-class storage, and a walk-around king bed. It is designed for entertaining guests with style throughout including a clean interior featuring luxury plank flooring and wood cabinetry. Other features built for entertaining include:
  • A Lounge offering opposing slideouts with ideal sightlines to the 50” HDTV with home theater sound bar system, reclining theater seating (optional 34N) with USB ports, remote holders, integrated cupholders and lap table.
  • An exterior entertainment center with a 40” TV, home theater soundbar system with portable Bluetooth subwoofer
  • A Galley featuring top-of-the-line appliances including an 18-cubic-foot double-door stainless-steel residential refrigerator/freezer
EKKO
The EKKO is a compact Class C motorhome designed for the modern-day adventurer with large holding tanks, solar panels, and optional lithium batteries to help unlock the power of off-grid camping.

“The EKKO delivers an intentional off-road look with clean, sharp-angled edges and minimal exterior graphics,” said Hazelton. “Built on the all-wheel drive Ford Transit chassis, this new model has the capability to take you to places previously unthinkable for a Class C.”


2021 Winnebago EKKO

The EKKO is available in two different floorplans (22A, 24C). Additional off-grid features include:
  • Unparalleled storage for a coach of its size - most notably a heated rear gear garage with three access points to store outdoor gear, equipment and accessories
  • An optional pop-top feature (22A) that provides additional sleeping for guests that can comfortably sleep two adults
  • All-season insulation providing the opportunity to extend camping season HIKE and VOYAGE
The Hike is a travel trailer built for life beyond the beaten path featuring five floorplans ranging in length between 20 and 25 feet. The latest updates further advance the Hike’s ability to reach new places and include a spare tire and carrier and new “T” cross bar fittings to haul gear via the innovative exo-skeleton.


2021 Winnebago Hike

The Voyage is built for explorers who dream of extended adventures while still bringing comfort and connectivity to the campground. Highlights to the new Voyage Travel Trailer lineup for 2021 include pass-through compartment storage and a new interior décor package – Brooklyn. Updated fifth wheel features include enhanced front cap styling and larger cap lights.

Accessibility Enhanced INSPIRE
The 2021 Accessibility Enhanced (AE) RV line reflects in demand design elements such as expanded hallway and bathroom areas, accessible controls for lights and RV systems, remote controls for the wheelchair lift and door. The new Inspire is a 35-foot Class A diesel, providing abundant space and power. The Adventurer 30T AE is a 31-foot Class A offering and includes a sleeper sofa to increase sitting areas, a roll-under sink, and pedestal tables.

Other new updates and models featured in The Road Ahead virtual launch include, the Forza 36H, updates to the 4WD Revel and Class B powerhouse Travato and walk arounds highlighting the latest features from its travel trailer and fifth wheel lineup including the Micro Minnie, Minnie, Voyage travel trailer and fifth wheel and Hike products.

Yes, It looks great. Wonder how much Newmar DNA it has? Two features I noticed are flush slide outs and side radiator.
