Winnebago Towables Introduces the New Winnebago Destination at Louisville

WINNEBAGO TOWABLES INTRODUCES THE NEW WINNEBAGO DESTINATION AT LOUISVILLE
.
November 27, 2013 -- Winnebago announces the introduction of its first full-size, luxury fifth-wheel, the Destination, to be unveiled at the 51st annual National RV Trade show held in Louisville Kentucky.

Destination is a full sized fifth-wheel that combines motorhome styling and residential interiors. “The new Destination truly lives up to the iconic Winnebago name,” said Winnebago Towables President Johnny Hernandez. “I am very proud of our team and the results of their efforts to push the envelope of traditional fifth-wheel design to achieve a product that all other fifth wheels will soon be measured by.”

Destination’s front cap integrates an aerodynamic design, including an air dam for increased wind deflection, as well as unique styling features including a multidimensional paint design and LED light strips. The optional rear cap is influenced by our motorhome heritage with a touch of sports car styling. Exterior features include aluminum steps, 30 X 78 entry door with opening window, 12” main chassis rails, drop storage, frameless tinted windows, sports car styled taillights and back up lights, hydraulic front jacks and a standard champagne colored gel coat fiberglass wall.

The interior is full of features that even the most discriminating buyer will want. The spacious interior is a combination of a 96” inch interior width (100” exterior) and a radius ceiling. The main floor slideouts, powered by hydraulics, are 6’9” tall with extra tall windows adding to the overall open feeling of the Destination.

The galley features top quality hardwood cabinets with a contemporary radius design and a tremendous amount of drawer and cabinet storage space, a full size pantry with glass door, solid surface countertops, recessed range, a residential, French door, 20 cu. ft., refrigerator in either black or stainless steel, and an optional stainless steel residential sized dishwasher.

The entertainment center’s 50” TV, sliding desk drawer, and optional fireplace with a hearth add to the ambiance of this fifth wheel. Your customers will have no problem listening to the TV or stereo because we included the quiet air system for maximum cooling with minimal sound.

At the top of the hardwood stairs are two 74” tall six panel doors. One door leads to the spacious bathroom with a 60” one piece fiberglass shower, large vanity with solid surface countertop, built-in lavatory sink and a ceramic toilet. Behind the other door is the master suite featuring a 6”9” ceiling height extending the open feel to the sleeping quarters. The “Flex Bed” raises the head of the bed providing a comfortable position for watching TV or just sitting up in bed. The bedroom also features an 8-drawer dresser with deep, 16” drawers. A special feature of the bedroom is the magic mirror/TV design that acts like a mirror when the 32” TV is not turned on and frames the television picture beautifully when it is on. Finally, to top off the master suite is a full-size, cedar-lined, walk-in closet has 4 large radius shelves.

ZOUNDS!! When Winnie does it they do it big. I can't wait to see it. Notice I said "see" Buy is not an operative word here.

I looked at the Winnebago site and they do not have the new trailer on the site.

The one thing I think that they can beef up is the frame with a heavier rectangular box section like the Mobile Suites or Lifestyle.

Hopefully they also went with a higher R value insulation system.

The rear paint treatment is a bit much. I hope they have the option to have other exteriors.

Winnebago Destination

Hi, may I ask where you got that photo of the Destination?

If it belongs to you, would you mind if I used it for a blog post?

Thank You

The picture was in the public domain for editorial press.

If you're not using it for profit, I don't expect that Winnebago Industries would mind.

You would need credentials to access the Winnebago image library.

Bought it!!

My wife and I were really close to buying a DRV or a LifeStyle unit. We have been looking for a while and were getting pretty worn out as it took a long time just to get down to considering the final two. Then my wife came across the Holiday Rambler Presidential and the new Winnebago Destination. It was love at first sight for her.....will not bore you with the long story of how I had to call a lot of folks to get info on this unit and to find out about the construction, blah blah blah before we purchased it.

If you want good pics of the interior, go to the McClain's RV Superstores Rockwall, TX location and you can search for Winnebago 5th wheel on the site and it will take you to our unit......46 pics I believe. Clint was our sales guy and he was very generous with his time and even made us a couple of vids to help show us a few other things about this unit.

Am I nervous buying the first generation of W designing and building their first higher end 5'er after more or less just sticking with the SunnyBrook templates for the past few years? Yeah, a little.....but I have faith that they have built a good product and will stand behind it. Heck, I believe we may be the first to purchase one of these in the country!!

Hopefully it will be delivered by Feb 8.....we are having awning toppers, LP generator, and 2nd a/c installed right now at the dealership......I will make additional posts after we receive it and get to do a shakedown stay in it.

Happy Camping, Mike

Congratulations! Your new 5er looks awesome! We have been very happy with our Raven, but your Destination has all the creature comforts for full-time living.
Looking forward to photos, please!

Blessed travels to you!
