Brand new: 1995 holiday rambler imperial 37wds

New both to this forum and Rv ownership

So I’m very proud to show off my recent acquisition: Class A diesel pusher, holiday rambler imperial 37wds!

It has 95k miles on it, but the Cummins 8.3L engine was replaced in 2002, so the engine only has around 35k miles! Mechanical injection pump, no def

It also has an Onan 7500 diesel generator with just 1240hrs run time, and one slide out, plus washer and dryer combo

My wife and I are both extremely happy with the coach- we spent months looking on different platforms and websites/going out and looking at other motor homes, before deciding on this one

The diesel engine and platform (air ride and air brakes/engine braking) was a must have for me- although we were close to settling for a v10 gasser, as I’m familiar with that engine, because my old work truck uses it, and I’ve rebuilt it/know it inside and out-

But thankfully we found our HR diesel and didn’t have to settle/got just what we were looking for

Needs a number of cosmetic and maintenance items, but the engine and transmission are great, and the only big dollar item is a set of new tires (going on this Monday)

In 1995, this motorhome sold for 168k. We were able to purchase it for $6000, and drove it home

Thank ya kindly!

I’m having a blast already, learning about a new system/what is needed to make everything work proper like

I’ve been working on cars and rebuilding engines since I was a teenager, so now it’s very interesting to be learning how to maintain larger diesel platforms with air components

Wasn't really sure about this... but then I got to the part where you said you got it for only $6k. That's pretty awesome, GL and have fun!

Haha, yes it definitely needs lots of interior (and exterior) cosmetic upgrades

But for the price, we can put thousands into it and still have a very reasonable amount invested into a solid diesel pusher

And I’m a home builder by profession, so I’ve all the tools and experience to do a professional job on the renovation

Might even pop the sides off one day to fix the areas of de-lamination, then spend a week sanding it, and give it a nice new paint job

But it’s good enough for the time being, it’s not falling apart, and we won’t have to contend with the jealousy and envy of others 😁

I got a great deal on hardwood flooring at Lowe’s, so that’s first up. Then reupholster the ceiling with fabric, as well as the couch and chairs

And a new bed. And I’m sure we’ll find other things

Good suggestion, I’ll take some pictures for sure- I renovate and build houses as part of my business, and one of my favorite parts is the before and after pictures

Stay tuned
