First DP Newmar New Aire

We moved up to a Class A from our 2021 Tiffin Wayfarer. Purchased a 2021 Newmar New Aire 3545 from original owner with 9k miles on it.

First trip was driving from Florida where we purchased it, to Arizona where we live, 2400 miles. Nothing like jumping into the deep end!

congrats on your New Aire!!!! love the pictures.

the deep end. i can relate.

i'm in the same boat. just took delivery of my 6800 mile 2023 Newmar New Aire in Nashville at NIRVC last Thursday. towing my new Jeep, my son and and i drove it home to near the Seattle area missing snow and "chains required" mountain passes. went thru NIRVC in Las Vegas for a few minor tweaks. 3100 miles. got home Tuesday night.

i'm an RV newbie, but after 3000 miles a bit less so. i have more of an idea now what i don't know.

can we ask the purchase price?

there is another thread looking into values of used RVs.
I'd like a New Aire - but should I buy new or used?

great question. my wife and i are total RV newbies. i tried to find something less expensive but to get my wife's buy in the New Aire checked all the quality and feature list boxes and hit the 35 foot size target my wife was comfortable with. we felt Newmar quality seemed to be very good. and really there is nothing else at that size and quality. it's a unicorn model.

we actually got an offer accepted at a very good price on a new leftover 2024 New Aire, then a very clean used 2023 New Aire w/6800 miles we had tried to buy a week prior came back available for $100k less. we decided that made the most sense and if it worked out that the RV life for us was not working a year from now that the used one would be less painful to sell. the 23' and 24' are identical as far as features, maybe some nuances here and there different.

so while we appreciated that buying new with a new warranty had value, the $100k delta pushed us to used. and buying from NIRVC did tip us over in terms of their reputation for service. and so far we are very happy with the level of care we have received. there are a few niggles we need fixing but it seems that it will work out positively. i will need to drive my coach from Seattle to Las Vegas NIRVC for the final fixes. fingers crossed that after that i'm in a good spot for the year of use. over and above the $100k difference, we did spend the money to do all the annual maintenance work so we could go a year before it needed it again, and we did add the Rettroband run flat's on the steer tires. so we feel we should be safe and good for a year of use.

i drove it 3100 miles with my son from Nashville to Seattle via the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas and it has been all it was supposed to be so far.

would i be happier with a new one as i sit here right now? it would have 6800 miles less on it depending on where i bought it. my 2 cents is it depends on how pristine the used one is, where it is, who is selling it, and the actual deal you can get on a new one. for us used low milage seemed to work. but we are so new and wet behind the ears that not sure how valuable our perspective is.

good luck.
